Heart-Shaped Hack

This is one of my favorite books for this year.
The only book that I wanted to reread immediately, even when I’m just halfway through it. I love the banters between Kate and Ian, the flow from friends to more than friends, how light their romance is (with touches of comedy), plus the unexpected turn of events. I love the characters, the plot, the scenes – everything!
The story started when Kate appeared on TV to ask for donations for the Main Street Food Pantry. Ian was a mysterious benefactor who donated thousand dollars twice until Kate decided to catch him in the act of making another donation. They became friends, in Ian’s point-of-view, and he started to ‘meddle’ in Kate’s life (like when he keeps on hacking her dating account). Then he told Kate to go out with him instead. With Ian’s charm and wit, of course she gave in.
I like Kate’s personality. She’s warm and loving yet feisty, and she is confident with herself. She doesn’t have any issues, she’s focused on her goal which is to make sure the food pantry is doing well, and she knows what she wants.
I am in love with Ian. Who doesn’t want a ridiculously hot hacker with a heart? And he said it himself, there’ll never be a boring time with him. He’s hot, he knows it, and he’s going to make the most out of it. He’s actually my ideal man materialized (mmm, not really materialized since he’s a character on a book, but you get what I mean). Tall, hot (as Kate described), smart (very smart; he’s a hacker for crying out loud!), and adventurous. His devil-may-care persona blends with his geek side.
Another thing that I love with the book, as I’ve already mentioned, are the conversations between the two. It’s flirty and light yet seductive at the same time.

Then there’s the plot. Though I had a feeling (Of course I knew it wouldn’t happen because it’s their story, but in reading a good book you can never really tell), the scenes were written in a way that you’ll think that it really happened (boy it’s hard to describe it without spoiling, LOL).
Bottom line – read this amazing book. I’m rating it 5 stars because I fell in love with Ian, I want to be Kate, it was beautifully written I wanted to reread it even when I was just halfway through it, just so I could swoon over Ian again, and it’s a light romantic comedy but just like what Ian said, it’ll never be a bore.
