I remember a friend who didn’t like this book because basically it’s just the first book told in Travis’ POV. There were just some conversations between him and Shepley or among the three of them (with Mare) that were added, and a much more detailed wedding trip.
For me though, it’s still a 5 star. The lines were perfectly delivered, and Travis is the most expressive book boyfriend I’ve read. The way he shows his vulnerability, when he is not with Abby is just heart-melting.
In another life, I could love you.
Abby was lying weak and sick in my arms, depending on me to take care of her. In that moment I recognized that my feelings for her were a lot stronger than I thought. Sometime between the moment we met, and holding her on that bathroom floor, I had fallen in love with her.
This.
“I can’t win with you. I can’t win with you! You say you’re done . . . I’m fucking miserable over here! I had to break my phone into a million pieces to keep from calling you every minute of the damn day—I’ve had to play it off like everything is just fine at school so you can be happy . . . and you’re fucking mad at me? You broke my fuckin’ heart!” I screamed.
