Up in Flames is a part of the Rosemary Beach series written by Abbi Glines. There were times before when I got confused with the characters because at around the same time, she is writing another series – Sea Breeze. The only difference is that there’s no (for the lack of better term) long-term villain in Sea Breeze; in Rosemary Beach, Nan would always make an appearance (and cause trouble). Personally, I thought I will not like this particular book because of Nan, but luckily there’s a slight (like teeny tiny bit) change in her character during Grant’s book so I said, “Yeah, maybe she isn’t as insufferable as I thought she is”.
I can’t really write a review of each character because some already made appearance on the first books, I suggest it’s better to read those first.

Overall, I’d rate it a 5.
Nan became tolerable. Like her overall behavior mellowed, and maybe it’s because the book is about her so I get to see her side of the story; how and why she does what she did.
(We also have the same taste in men; I like guys with man bun too ;), someone who is firm but not that controlling.)
I can’t talk about the heroes in book because it will spoil the fun, but let’s just say they have distinct character and personas.
The story is something fresh too. It is kind of dark and twisted, not too much twisted, but compared to the previous books on the same series, there’s a big difference. And the plot twist, it just – blows. Kaboom.
I don’t know why I can’t make a good review on this book, probably because when I start to write I might spoil he book and the previous ones and we don’t like spoilers. But overall, I love the book, it was well written, there’s growth when it comes to the major dilemma the characters are facing, and it’s unlike the other books in the series.
