Maybe in Another Life

This book requires patience at first when you just started reading it, then when you realize how it was written, you’ll be anticipating for the next scenes.

*Spoiler alert! The next paragraphs contain spoilers. Read at your own risk!*

I admit at first I was confused. Like, did she have a concussion? Did she hit her head that hard? Is she dreaming or something? Then comes the moment when I said to myself, “Oh, ok. So this is just how the book was written. Okayyy..” Then I continued reading, anticipating every chapter, falling for a character in that specific chapter only to be disappointed that it won’t be included on the next, then the same thing happens, then again and again. (Like what I said, it requires patience)

But, this book, (though confusing, lol) is one of my great reads this year. I love how it was written that way, and it actually made me think which is which. I love how it was written in two ways yet the characters are the same; their attitude, their personality stays the same.

One of the characters is Ethan. I hate him in a different world, though I love him in another. (You did read that spoiler alert, right?) And in the end, I love him in both worlds.

Henry. The first time his character entered in the picture I knew it’s going to be him(ish). I am on Team Henry all the way! (Though I don’t think I can say that since there are different versions and stuffs and his next appearance is at the ending in one of the versions. (Still keeping up?))

And then there is Hannah. It was a quick transformation from someone who made a terrible mistake to someone who wants to make it right to someone who finally got her sense together (in one version).

Overall, mmm, I think this book deserves a perfect 5. The manner of how it was written is fresh (for me), I love the characters (I actually hated some characters but it’s just because of their character and how they behave in one version), I love the plot twist, but most of all, I love the moral lesson.

And what’s the moral lesson?

Nah.

I think you have to read it for yourself. ;)
