After a few chapters reading this book I knew I made a terrible mistake – I should’ve read it the moment it was recommended to me! This book was on my suggested books list and the reason why I didn’t bother reading it is because I am not into cop stories (although I am a fan of soldier or Navy Seals stories). When I read the teaser or the summary, I thought it will be another cheesy story with cheesy last names. (I find Indy’s last name cheesy, sorry!)
Moral lesson: Do not judge a book by its preview. The plot may be something we all have read before, but the manner of writing and the conversations differ.
Anyway, I am not going to make a summary anymore of what happened on the book because 1, I don’t want to spoil anything, and 2, point being summaries and previews do not really tell what happened on the book. I am just going to write what I love about the book. :)
There’s this scene which was posted by one of the book blogs that I follow which sounds cheesy, but when you actually read it on the book it happens to be really sweet and funny.

One of the things I love about this book is how funny Indy and Lee’s conversations are. They are like cats and dogs – Lee an overprotective jealous guy while Indy is a rock chick who doesn’t give a damn about rules. Lee gives orders that Indy never follow, and both of them find each other exasperating. Be that as it may, I love their quirky banters.
The sexy side is as good as their funny side. Actually, it is more. The build up of passion is so convincing that when their moment is interrupted (which happened, like, oh, just a hundred times), you’ll feel their frustrations too (haha). One word – hot. Like I could picture Lee being ridiculously hot, and when I think of what he’s doing with Indy – uhmm, yeah, let’s go to my next point. Lol

So another thing that I love about this book is how there’s been a lot of rise and fall. Like you’re thinking the book is almost over because everything seems to be getting better (I read the book on my iBooks and I don’t really check the pages whenever I read so I honestly thought that it was over the first time everything seems to fall back into place) but then – woops! Another bad thing happened. It’ll make you wonder when all the bad things will end (but you know that deep down you don’t really mind because you are already hooked with Lee ;) ).
Overall, I’d rate this book 5 out of 5. I regret not reading the book immediately; it’s like a very nice book is just right there under my nose but I ignore it because I thought I won’t enjoy. Which I was proven wrong – I enjoyed the book. I see some Indy in me (though my playlist and wardrobe are diverse, I can see myself owning a bookstore con coffee shop someday, breaking rules every now and then, and falling for someone like Lee), I love the conversations and the banters, how everything as described, and how there seems a lot of things going on so I won’t get bored.
P.S.
I should’ve read this sooner, lol
