Rock Chick 3 – Redemption

Third installment for Rock Chick Series by Kristen Ashley – I love it! While Indy’s story is still on top of my Rock Chick list, Roxie’s come in second.

Hank is Lee’s older brother and on the first book I’ve already envisioned him as a gorgeous White-or-Black No-Gray-Area cop who always play by the rules. Enter Roxie, Tex’s niece who got herself in trouble with her ex. Hank’s got the love at first sight bug and so does Roxie, but, unlike Hank, wouldn’t admit it to anyone. (Seriously, she’s calling him Whiskey because of his eyes – that’s already a hint that she likes him as much as he likes her.)

Their characters are great. Hank is pretty much like Lee, controlling and pushy, but there’s a different sense of maturity or authority with Hank. Roxie is weird – she’s like a grown up version of Luna Lovegood. She would say something weird every now and then, like alligators being cute and stuff (who thinks alligators are cute anyway?), she was hesitant in committing to Hank (this I’ve noticed with the 3 girls; it took them quite some time to finally accept the men in their lives), but at least she’s not as annoying (for this subject only) as Jet (if you’ve read my review on Rock Chick 2, I kinda find Jet annoying especially towards the end IMO).

The plot is different than the first 2 books but the usual kidnapping and threats and gun shots are there. I love the scenes with other characters; take for example Tex, he’s hilarious. The ending – well, whatever happened to Billy is still vague (Did he lose a hand? Is he dead? Did he go to jail? Is he gone for good?) but I love how it ended in a cliffhanger.

I can’t wait to start on the next book! Someone said it’s better than Redemption and I’m rating Redemption 4 stars, so here’s to hoping I’ll be reading a 5 star book!
