Rock Chick 08 – Revolution

Rock Chick 8 is Ally’s and Ren’s story. I admit, around the 3rd book I was like, Where’s the one for Ally? But I guess it’s save the best for the last. And yes, I’m giving this book 5 star rating.

Before reading this book I thought Ally is going to be annoyingly stubborn like most of the Rock Chick girls, mainly because she started Rock Chick with Ally. Imagine my surprise reading a mature Ally. Yes, she still insists on doing what she wants, but there’s a sense of maturity in her, like she really thought things through first before making a decision. (Although it would’ve been better if she was honest with Ren sooner – saved a lot of trouble)

And Ren – he was hung up on Ava before, even fought for it (that’s when he became close with Ally), and though I don’t see it at first that she’s into Ally, he proved to be the best boyfriend by supporting her and not freaking out (uhm, I think for boys the correct term is getting pissed) every five minutes. It just seems (when he first told Ally his feelings) like he was settling for Ally since they’ve been FWB (less friends, more benefits) for almost a year – this part of their love story sounded rushed (for me). But he was very supportive in the end, giving Ally everything she needed.

The other characters have matured too, like Indy. Usually she’ll insist that she be part of everything Ally does, but here she’s different. There’s less violence compared to other books (and that’s saying something, considering Ally’s apartment got blown up and she’s got a stalker and of course, the usual kidnapping), more drama (the part with Smithie was touching, as well as Darius issue) but overall, the characters seems to be thinking now, instead of letting pride (and stubbornness) do the talking.

I love this book and will most likely recommend it to my friends.

5 stars.
