Twisted Perfection

If I rated this book last year, I’d probably give it a 3. Della’s past is too dark for my taste, and her occasional episodes is something I don't want to read. I'm no saying that I don't sympathize with people with PTSD; I just feel overwhelmed with their emotions that I don't think I can handle what they are handling. But after rereading this book now, I’m giving it 5 Stars.

Della is probably the strongest heroine I've met. Blaire is resilient in a way that she won't back down on anyone; Della is just as strong, only her battle is something within her. Sometimes we can't control the effect of what we had experience that it tends to affect our day to day lives. Della is dealing with her trauma everyday, but she's strong enough to pack up and leave and see the world to find herself. Some people can't even go to another city alone; Della is moving across states to explore.

Woods had always been a gentleman, even with Blaire. His refined attitude is exactly the reason why he was the perfect competitor against Rush. He's even greater when he found out what Della is dealing, and instead of running in the opposite direction, he manned up and told Della that he would take care of her. To commit to someone despite their flaws is the biggest proof that you love them deeply.

The pace is just right. They started with a one night stand, and when they saw each other it's obvious that they are meant to be more. When Woods promised that he would go slow, that he would build up from what they already share together, their love became more realistic. And thrown in the issue with Woods’s dad and Della’s past – this couple will surely survive whatever's going to happen to them.

The ending- well, it was a cliffhanger, but it’ll make you think if now they finally get to have their happy ending, or if there are more troubles going their way.

5 stars.
