Some Sort of Happy

I love this book.

It's unique – from the character to the plot until the ending.

Skylar and Sebastian both have issues.

Skylar’s life has turned into a big mess after she agreed to act bitchy in a reality show. She lost her job, her crown, and everyone seemed to hate her. She can't help but compare herself to her sisters. Personally, I thought I’m going to hate her character because she seems to be shallow at first, but then I get to know her. Plus, how she was with Sebastian, after learning everything (almost everything) about him, proves that there's more to her than just her beauty.

Sebastian. My heart aches for him. I know that voices in our heads are difficult to shut sometimes, and to have that voice constantly nagging you, whispering words about hurting someone? I can only imagine how hard it must be for him.

The plot is different than what I usually read. Yes there are a lot of stories about screwed up male lead, but usually it affects their fetishes or their behavior towards other people or with the idea of relationship and commitment. But this one – OCD plus constant feeling of wanting (or thinking of wanting) to choke someone? I was almost certain that it will not end well.

There's more to the story than just 2 people falling for each other – this shows the raw side of love. Sometimes flaws isn't just not putting the toilet seat lid down or not fixing the bed. I knew it'll be hard and that there's going to be a lot of bad days, but this shows how good the good days are.

I love this book. 5 stars.
