After We Fall
After We Fall is a story of second chances.
Margot was told to lay low until her Scone incident subside, while Jack has been grieving for his ex-wife for almost 3 years. Then suddenly, they met; a city girl who had never gotten her hands dirty and a cowboy veteran who is all country.
One thing I love is the banter between these 2. I could imagine a 30ish lady who's been prim and proper all her life suddenly wants to live a little, and decided to make the brooding country boy smile. You could see the struggle and growth of both characters as they try to get out of their comfort zone, or at least the zone where they were living.
The plot is unique, and most events are hilarious, especially the tree incident. It doesn't seem rushed; the way it was written made me see and feel the building of tension and attraction between the two. The ending is also sweet.
Overall, it's an amazing book, and anyone who wants to read about second chances should read this one.
5 Stars.
