Everything just keeps getting better and better.
The third book ended with Dmitri over to the dark side, which is why this fourth book started with Rose making a life changing decision – leaving the Academy. And though she left the Academy before, this time she’s leaving with the sole purpose of driving a stake to her lover’s heart.
I love how the settings changed. Rose in no longer in school, and she met a lot of interesting characters. I love how Adrian became upfront with his feelings, and how Dmitri’s family welcomed Rose with open arms. I love how this book is action-filled in a grown up way, because though I love the Academy and their lessons, there is something with fighting the Strigois themselves.
Overall, I love this book. The ending was a shocker and I can’t wait to (re)read the next book.
5 stars.
