This book is amazing! I can’t believe I liked it when, after Chapter 1, I was thinking that it’s going to be a disaster, but by Chapter 2 I was grinning like crazy.
If I’m going to rate Maggie’ character it’s going to be a 3. I can’t believe it went that long without her realizing that Ry isn’t gay.
Ry’s character is a 4 – I can’t believe he led Maggie o for months. Though he might get a bonus point for the reason why he did what he had done.
I also like Jack’s character, and I’m hoping he’ll get a book of his own.
The plot already screams “disaster in the making’. We all know that stories where the guy pretended to be someone they’re not usually ended up with a lot of groveling and tears, until there are only a few pages left so you know that they’ll get back together.
The ending was abrupt- it was short and sweet, but kind of rushed for me.
One of things I love about this book is its pace. Granted, Ry saying Maggie is IT for him may sound cheesy and unrealistic (it happened on Chapter 2 – way too fast than the expected), the rest of the scenes show the buildup of connection between the two. The characters have chemistry, and they were really good as being friends and roommates, so them falling in love is inevitable.
I also love how this book was written; it’s the main reason why I give it 5 stars.
It’s a light chick lit, not that much drama – more like a feel good read with hot steamy scenes in between. It’s got a good balance of humor and wit and sexiness in it. This is, for me, a perfect example of a romantic comedy book. It’ll make you laugh with its cheesiness, makes you hot and bothered with the adult scenes, but you won’t expect any ugly tears, just good vibes.
I want a guy who is not only the love of my life but my best friend, too.
5 stars.
