I didn’t read the blur, so during that Dani incident, which was totally unexpected, I had to go no Goodreads to read what this is all about. I didn’t notice the mermaid tail and the stake on the cover too. But I found a new YA paranormal series which I would definitely add on my list of favorites. The characters were all interesting. They were all of different kinds, but in a way blended together to form a unique group. I love how, though some characters were popular in the paranormal scene, the author was able to make it her own, like werewolves not being able to turn during a new moon, or a vampire having to feed 3 different blood. The plot is new; I never read a book were paranormal creatures hang out together cordially, though vampires being the bad guys seem to be a common plot. The pace of the story is ok, although there were moments were all of the information is overwhelming that I had to read those parts again, but overall, it was good. I also like the ending – not a cliffhanger, but definitely make you want to read more about the gang. Overall, it was a really good book, and I recommend it to my friends who love YA paranormal stuffs. 5 stars.
