Review: Screwed

Don’t ever fall in love because when it ends, it will destroy you.

Step-siblings romance isn’t my thing. The thought of it seems awkward, even if the parents met when they are in their twenties, or even when they’ve never known each other all their lives. (Imagine if they grew up together then fall when they get older; holidays would be fun) now while I am not comfortable with the theme, I still decided to read this book.

He’s a real jerk when he wanted, huh? I get it, some leads have experience which will make them build walls around themselves and will just open a hole when they need to bang someone, and this stereotype is common in new adult books. The male lead here though can be extreme; and to think she’s the stepsister whom he just met.

Now if you like hot not so erotic stories but are still of adult content, then you might want to try this book. Theme and the lead’s arrogance aside, he can do dirty talk in a good type of dirty. Kudos to the author for creating a hot jerk – someone you just both love and hate.

The main reason why I finished reading the book is I happen to love how it was written. I like the author’s way of writing, and though the ending seemed to be rushed, and there’s no closure with the parents issue (I personally feel like there’s a missing chapter of wallowing and groveling first before the happy-ever-after), the pace of the storyline is actually pretty good.

So you see, there were points that were not within my taste, but the author’s way of writing made me say that this is a good book, so if you guys don’t mind the theme, and is trying some hot read, then you better try this one.
