Lauren Blakely - The Thrill of It (No Regrets, #1)

Love isn’t a quilt.

Love isn’t patient, love isn’t kind.

Love is a game, a chase, a thrill.

Love is wild and war-like, and every man and woman must fight for themselves.

I can play the game. I can control love.

After reading the prequel, I expected a descriptive first book which will kind of solidify the connection between the two.

Their secrets were kept secrets, discussed in bits until the pieces eventually fell in place. Though there is still connection between the two, Harley’s indecisions at every turn is getting annoying.

This is sort of darker than most of Lauren’s book I’ve read and I have to admit, it’s not my taste.

I am not my past. I am my present. I am my future. The past can chase you if you let it. You can spend your life trying to outrun it or you can stop running, turn around and look it in the face. I’ve stared down my past, and now I’m moving on. I am more than my past. I am my future and it belongs to me.

3 stars.
