Review: If You Were Mine
Melanie Harlow - If You Were Mine
I was alone.
I was in shock.
I was crushed.
But I had my answer.
He might love me…but not enough to stay.
I’m in love with Theo!
Ok, so maybe there were times when acts like a jerk, thinking that he could just run off like that, but whenever he’s sweet he is the sweetest.
I love how unconventional the way the two met; it was one of the craziest (but in a good way) plot I’ve read and it was hilarious. I kept thinking that their biggest bump would be one of Theo’s customers is friends with Claire’s parents, but luckily, that didn’t happen (it may also be too common if it did).
I like the rapport between the two, and Theo’s character complements that of Claire. Claire sweet and caring nature is exactly what Theo’s drifter tendency needs.
Overall, it was an amazing read. It’s hilarious, fresh, and sweet. The epilogue is one of the best epilogues I’ve read.
As much as it hurt to let Theo go when I knew I could make him happy, I couldn’t force it on him.
He had to want to be happy, and he had to want it enough to work for it
But it hurt a lot.
Because when it came down to it, I had to face the fact that even though he couldn’t bring himself to say the words, the action spoke plenty loud.
He didn’t love me enough to stay.
