As much as I love Trent and the plot twist of this book, I can’t give it a perfect score because of one thing – Cami. Not that I’m channeling Abby, but I totally get it why she’s not comfortable with Cami. I don’t want to be judgy, ok so maybe I am being judgy, but I don’t like her personality. She’s not what I was expecting as someone who could make Trent fall. She’s cool sometimes, and their chemistry is undeniable at times, but there’s something in I can’t pinpoint what that I don’t like. (Ok, that is maybe channeling Abby, since I read all 17 episodes of Endlessly Beautiful and she said something similar).
The plot is great; well, sort of. I like how TJ is actually Thomas, but I don’t like Cami breaking his hearts. Although that is necessary, there were a lot of scenes which might have been better for TJ if Cami wasn’t just selfish.
Anyway, good plot, Trent is adorable and hot at the same time, but I just don’t like Cami.
“I was just thinking now was as good a time as any to acknowledge that you’re perfect and it wouldn’t suck if you fell madly in love with me anytime soon.”
“I have a boyfriend,” I reminded him.
He waved me away. “Speed bump.”
“I don’t know,” I said. “He’s a pretty hot speed bump.”
Trent scoffed. “You’ve seen me nearly naked, baby doll. Your long-distance boy doesn’t look anything like this.”
3 stars.
