It’s been a while since I last read this book, and it’s just now that I realized that Kellan and Keira was horrible person. I knew I liked Denny, and he was a good guy, but maybe I was so hung up on Kellan’s hotness that I disregard what they did before. But now, ugh. Nobody deserves what they did to Denny. And in the end when Denny became the bad guy for accidentally hitting Keira after they were caught? It’s so unfair.
He smiled at me, his eyes filled with love.
“Sometimes, it felt like you cared for me too, and then everything in the world was perfect.” He frowned. “But most of the time, you wanted him, and a part of me wanted to die.”
This story is about a girl with a boyfriend who lived with the boyfriend’s friend. The only fault I can find with Denny is that he was too caught up with his dreams – and even that wasn’t a fault at all. Yes, I understand how upset Keira must be to be left alone after moving states to be with him, but we all know that getting drunk only leads to making mistakes.
Kellan, yes, he’s hot, but he can be a jerk when he wanted. I guess the idea of going behind his friend’s back excite him. There was a point where he admitted though that he did what he had done just so to get a piece of Keira. Ok, that sounds bad, but the point is, he’s a guy who fell in love for the first time, and though he knew he can’t have the girl, he’s still being sweet to her to at least make her give him a time for the day.
Keira’s indecisiveness is beyond annoying. Yes, I know that it’s hard to choose (It’s like choosing between Stefan and Damon from The Vampire Diaries, though I personally will pick Damon), but it’s worse to string the two guys along. She should’ve just been honest with Denny, and ignore Kellan because that’s what he deserves. Or she could’ve just break up with Denny when things got out of hand with Kellan. There was a point that she noticed Denny so sad and defeated, yet she did nothing. Oh, and that part where she would say “I choose you” to whoever is in front of her? That was beyond frustrating.
The plot, though I don’t like third party stories, is intriguing enough that I have to read until the end. The ending seems kind of a stretch though, don’t you guys think? I was like waiting for it to end, but it didn’t, taking I on and on and forever to finish.
Overall, it was good, and I might have to read it again, but only to scroll past Keira’s parts when she can’t decide who she’s choosing over whom.
He placed his hand upon my chest, over my heart. “I want to be someone’s everything. I want fire and passion, and love that’s returned, equally. I want to be someone’s heart.”
He removed his hand and stared at it. Holding back a sob at the immense loss I felt when his hand pulled away, I stared at it too.
“Even if it means breaking my own,” he whispered, his accent thick.
